It’s no secret that the battle of this generations console war have been one sided. But after Sony claimed the number one spot this January for world wide console sales, PlayStation SVP Guy Longworth said in an interview with Geoff Keighley, that Sony has sold nearly twice as many as its “nearest next-gen competitor”. Which we can only assume to be Xbox One, unless somehow in the BIGGEST upset ever the Wii U came out over the Xbox One.
However despite the PS4 nearly doubling the console sales of Xbox One, the Xbone has managed to sell 2.27 million games securing a 47% share of the software market. Although Microsoft refuses to divulge the split of Xbox One and 360 units.
So it is hard to say who is winning this clash of the juggernauts. With Ps4’s lack of games and Xbox’s lack of Power it may be a close one, but with the release of PS4 in Sony’s homeland Japan (next week), and the game Titanfall on March 11th, we are sure to see where this battle goes.
