The Unkai Terrace of Tomamu, Japan is famous for it’s beautiful “Sea of Clouds” view.
(So that’s where they store all that data!)
The resort rests atop a mountain peak on the island of Hokkaido in Japan and provides a scenic spot for tourists to enjoy a spectacular view. The “Unkai” or “Sea of Clouds” is a phenomenon that occurs due to hot springs in the area. The difference in temperature between night and day causes a blanket of thick cloud to form over the mountainous region early in the mornings (5:00am to 8:00am). A gondola system transports people above the clouds where they may enjoy the view from the terrace cafe.
